Palace of Parliament: Biggest Building in Europe, Heaviest in the World

Located in Bucharest, Romania, the Palace of Parliament - also known locally as the Peoples Palace - is the biggest building in Europe and second in the world (The Pentagon takes first place). It is also the heaviest building in the world, weighing in at 9 billion pounds (4.09 billion kilograms or 4.09 million tons).

Do not confuse "biggest" with "tallest", as the Palace of Parliament is not the tallest building in Europe. It's only 267 feet tall (84 meters) but it takes second place in the world as biggest due to its immense span and weight. Its floor space measures 3.93 million square feet (365.000 square meters).
